Block diary time and add closures
Protect short busy periods or close availability for leave and other dates.
Use a time block for a private diary interruption such as lunch or travel. Use a closure for a longer period that may also show a message to clients.
In the app Add time blocks from Diary and closures from Working hours.
For a short block, open Diary, tap the plus button and choose Time block.
Choose the staff member, reason, start and end. Turn on All day when appropriate, then save.
Tap an existing block in the diary to edit or remove it.
For leave or a wider closure, open Working hours and add a closure with its date range.
Choose whether to show a client message, then save the closure.
In the portal Diary handles time blocks; Working hours handles closed periods.
In Diary, select the plus button and choose Time Block.
Set the staff, reason, start, end and optional private note, then add the block.
Select a block in Calendar view to edit or remove it.
For a closure, open Working hours, choose the staff member and add a Closed period.
Set the date range, client message choice and optional wording, then save.
Which one to use
- Time blocks are best for internal diary events and one-off gaps.
- Closures are best for leave, unexpected closure or a date range clients should understand.
